Festival is rain or shine, 11 am to 4 pm Celebrate fall’s bounty and the changing of the seasons at Harvest Festival on October 18, 2009 from 11 am to 4 pm at Stamford Museum & Nature Center! The event, held rain or shine on Museum grounds, will feature a variety of activities for the whole family.
There are lots of free activities on Heckscher Farm; learn about the harvest, techniques used to turn apples into cider, where linen comes from, how to dye wool, and see an antique tool demonstrations, or try your luck in the hay bale maze. Don’t’ forget to check out our new pumpkin family display! There will also be face painting, children’s crafts, story telling, live music and other demonstrations, all included with admission. For an additional fee, you can pick a pumpkin from our pumpkin patch or take a hay wagon ride. Fall favorite treats like cauldron-cooked corn on the cob, cotton candy, cider doughnuts and our very own fresh baked pies and first edition cookbook will be for sale.
